Local & Statewide Policies
This training will apply the example of major tobacco control policies in NY to focus on how local coalitions, prevention educators, and advocates have provided the education and assistance to see policies enacted locally, statewide, and even at the federal level. We will discuss successes, lessons learned, and the impacts these policies have had on public health and prevention efforts. We will specifically focus on how we can learn from these successes (and failures) regarding new policies regulating cannabis use and protecting our youth.
