About the event
The Substance Abuse Prevention Skills Training (SAPST) is a foundational course of study in substance abuse prevention. The SAPST was developed by SAMHSA's Center for Application of Prevention Technology (CAPT) and is grounded in current research and SAMHSA's Strategic Prevention Framework. It provides knowledge and skills to implement effective, data-driven prevention programs, practices, and policies that reduce behavioral health disparities and improve wellness. Individuals working for an OASAS funding prevention provider will be prioritized and limited to 30 participants.
There is an online component to be completed prior to the first session. Once you are registered for the SAPST training, information on how to access the online portion will be emailed to you. Hours will be earned as follows:
Online component = 5 hours
In Person (4 days) training = 26 hours
TOTAL HOURS = 31
