Organizational Planning

Organizational Planning and Development: This workshop provides recommendations and tips for developing an organization’s overall structure. The roles of leadership, staff, committees and volunteers will be addressed and the process for creating a simple strategic plan to strengthen an organization’s effectiveness by establishing goals and action plans will be highlighted. Participants will receive templates in Microsoft Word and Excel formats to help them develop and customize tools specific to their Coalition and/or organization.

Learning Objectives:

Structuring the roles of an organization’s leadership (Executive Board, Steering Committee), program directors, staff, committees, work groups and volunteers

Creating position descriptions for committees and work groups

Using a simple strategic plan to guide an organization, create goals, and implement operations
